A Tata Network Forum (TNF) - ASEAN meet was held on April 11, 2016, in Singapore with the intention of bringing together Tata companies in that region and exchanging updates related to the Tata Group. The meeting was graced by Her Excellency Vijay Thakur Singh, Indian High Commissioner to Singapore and attended by Dr Mukund Rajan, Brand Custodian and Member, Group Executive Council; Mr S Padmanabhan, Executive Chairman, TBExG; and Mr KV Rao, Resident Director, Tata Sons, ASEAN. The TNF meeting was also attended by the CEOs of Tata companies based in the ASEAD region, including Mr Ashish Anupam, President & CEO, Nat Steel; Mr Shubh Shrivastava, CEO, Tata Power International; Mr Girish Ramachandran, President, Tata Consultancy Services - Asia Pacific; Mr Russel Anderson, Managing Director, Jaguar Land Rover Asia Pacific and Mr Biswadev Sengupta, President, Tata Motors Indonesia.
The meeting started off with a welcome address by Mr Rao, who is also the Chairman of TNF - ASEAN. He thanked his predecessors Mr Vinod Kumar & Mr TV Narendran for establishing the TNF movement in the region. He then gave a detailed presentation on the Tata Group’s presence in the region and explained how all of them together were making a difference to the communities in the geographies. Mr Rao also spoke about the Tata Day that was being celebrated in Singapore, with all employees coming together, and detailed the various initiatives his team was taking at the Group level, including meetings with Government agencies.
Next up was Dr Rajan, who spoke about various Tata Group initiatives across the world and how Tata companies were making a difference by coming together. He also threw light of the incredible achievement the Tata Group had notched, wherein a million volunteering hours were contributed in the last year. Mr Padmanabhan then took the stage to make a presentation on the Business Excellence journey of the Tata Group. He explained how the model became scalable and repeatable over the last 20 years through involvement of Business Excellence evangelists across the globe.
The Indian High Commissioner to Singapore, Her Excellency Vijay Thakur Singh addressed the audience after this and praised the Tata Group for contributing to the community across the globe. During the interactive session which followed, various Tata Group leaders introduced themselves and spoke about the nation building activities Tata companies were engaged in.
The meeting ended with a vote of thanks to all present.
